The fire station was opened in October 1993 and is centrally located in the town, allowing for optimum timely response to any area in Grand Falls Windsor. The building is manned 24 hours a day with a fulltime firefighter/dispatcher.
The fire department also has a training ground located on New Bay road in Grand Falls - Windsor, this facility houses a smoke house, along with several other training devices. Fire fighters train here frequently on Tuesday nights. Pictures of the grounds can be seen here.
