Take a walk down the magnificent Gorge Park and take in the dramatic view of the majestic Exploits River and the imposing and unusual rock formation. This references back to a time when the river was travelled and fished by the aboriginal Beothuks of our land . The park is easily accessible; located through access roads from Scott Avenue. This lovely natural paradise consists of a scenic walking trail along the banks of the Exploits River which features numerous picnic and lookout areas, a boat launch for water enthusiasts, a pier walk, and an adventure playground for children. This park has something to offer everyone.

For the wildlife lover, check out the numerous lookouts where beavers, otters and eagles can all be sighted. Or just sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds of the river rippling against the banks.

For the angler, the Exploits River boasts some of the best spots to find Atlantic Salmon in all of Newfoundland and Labrador, not to mention the schools of trout and other fish that frequent these waters!

Looking to relax? Come for a light stroll along the river and enjoy the rustle of the trees, the sound of the birs, or just the calm echose of the river.
