As an inclusive community the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, is shocked and saddened by the events in Quebec City late Sunday evening. We wish to extend our condolences to the victims, family members and all those impacted.

We strongly denounce hatred and racism. We urge our citizens and all Canadians, to display compassion, open mindedness and a welcoming spirit in our daily lives. As a symbol of our support and to show our empathy, flags at the Town Hall will be flown at half-mast.

In addition to this, below is another way you can help out:

If an individual would like to make a donation for additional resources for the school or students they
may do so directly to the Newfoundland and Labrador Education Foundation.

Please indicate the donation is to be used for Bay d’Espoir Academy. A charitable receipt will be provided to individuals for donations over $20.00.

Communities and school groups that have expressed interest in fundraising events (such as a Loonie Drive, Variety
Concert, etc.) may also forward funds to the Foundation upon completion of the event. All funds will be used for
additional school resources.

Our province continues to face a very serious financial situation. We must continue to work together to find ways to create efficiencies and improve service delivery. To this end, each year the Minister of Finance oversees a pre-budget consultation process, which is designed to provide key stakeholders, individuals and interest groups an opportunity to identify budget priorities for consideration during the upcoming provincial budget.

Thursday, February 2 at St. Joseph's Hall, Station Road 7pm.
